Ashiq was born and raised in Qatar. He participated in the casting and filming of the Doha Film Institute (DFI) adverts for the 2010 Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) in order to enhance his acting abilities, inform the public about the important cultural activities taking place in the country, and support the uprising artistic movement in the country. When participating, he was part of the Haggle Tour 'The Haggler - Financing' advert, playing the roles of an elf and the clown director.
He got an opportunity to playing the role of a journalist in the second season of ‘Taymour’, a TV series that was scheduled to broadcast during the holy month of Ramadan 2011 by Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC TV).
Ashiq wrote the first script for short film 'Finally meeting'
Ashiq participated in Stunt Workshop to show his interests and love for Stunt acting, where he learn how to direct and perform high end stunts learning from a professional stunt man. He learn how to work with the team in a very professional way, understanding the team work and serious techniques for film stunts in front of a camera. They shoot a short video of stunt acting in the workshop entitled 'Once upon a time in Qatar'.
He played the role as an extra in the short film 'Topaz Duo: The Cosmic Phoenix' (2011).
He was an actor in a Doha Film Institute Music video ‘Nomadination - AshwinRenju’
